Beyond the big cities

Crypto in Kosovo’s smaller towns

Podujevë, Fushë Kosovë, Lipjan and Kamenicë each have one or two walk-in crypto offices but no confirmed ATM. Vushtrri and Suharekë have nothing verified at all. Here are the addresses, and the shortest route from each town.

Not every Kosovo town has a crypto ATM, and that does not always mean a trip to Pristina. This page covers six municipalities of more than 20,000 people that do not have a page of their own. Four have verified walk-in offices; two have nothing. For each one we list exact addresses and hours, whether the operator is licensed by the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo (CBK), and the nearest fallback.

Six towns at a glance: five offices, no confirmed ATM

Every verified point in these municipalities is a staffed office, not a machine. Coin ATM Radar does list one ATM in Lipjan and one in Kamenicë, but neither appears on exCoins’ official list of five ATMs as of 20 October 2026, so we treat both as unconfirmed. Populations come from the 2024 census.

Four of the five offices belong to exCoins, which is not on the CBK’s list of licensed institutions dated 15 October 2026. The one licensed office in these towns is CoinPrime’s in Fushë Kosovë. How the two networks differ in practice is covered in our guide to crypto exchange offices in Kosovo.

Fushë Kosovë: Pristina’s booming neighbour with two operators

Fushë Kosovë (Kosovo Polje) has grown at a rare pace. The 2011 census counted 34,827 residents; the 2024 census found 63,949, close to double. That may be why it is the only town on this page with two operators: exCoins on Hysen Xhakolli street and CoinPrime on Nënë Tereza street.

The difference matters. CoinPrime is CBK-licensed, checks your ID on every transaction () and caps cash at €1,000 per 24 hours across all its locations. According to its website, the office handles BTC, ETH and LTC. exCoins carries more coins, including USDT, and opens an hour earlier, but closes at 17:00. Because Fushë Kosovë borders Pristina, the capital’s ATMs are only a short drive away; see our Pristina crypto guide for those.

Podujevë: one office on the road to Merdare

Podujevë, with 70,975 residents, is the largest municipality on this page and the last stop before the Merdare crossing into Serbia. Its exCoins office is on Zahir Pajaziti street, open Monday to Saturday, 09:00–17:00, buying and selling BTC, ETH, USDT, XRP, TRX and LTC at the 2% commission shown on the operator’s website converter.

Podujevë also has a crypto backstory. When Kosovo banned crypto mining in January 2022 during an energy crisis, mining rigs were seized here as well as in the north and Mitrovica. Today the crypto law allows mining only with power bought on the liberalised market or self-generated from renewables; the full story is in crypto mining in Kosovo.

For an ATM, head to Pristina: exCoins machines at Maxi 24 and HIB Petrol Kalabri near the bus station, and CoinPrime on Rruga B. Across Merdare, Serbia has a licensed operator, ECD, in Belgrade and Novi Sad, but Serbia does not recognise Kosovo’s crossings as an international entry point for foreigners, and Pristina is closer anyway.

Lipjan: an office, and an ATM nobody confirms

Lipjan has 55,044 residents and one exCoins office on Lidhja e Prizrenit street, open Monday to Saturday, 09:00–17:00. Coin ATM Radar shows a machine in Lipjan too, but it is not on exCoins’ official list, and CoinPrime has no presence here. Call the office before you go looking for it.

For small cash purchases the Lipjan office is enough. For a 24/7 machine, Pristina is nearest. Heading south, Ferizaj has two ATMs, including one run by the licensed operator; see crypto in Ferizaj.

Kamenicë: a small town with its own office

Kamenicë is the smallest municipality here, at 22,868 residents, yet it has its own exCoins office on Syle Zarbinca street, open Monday to Saturday, 09:00–17:00. As in Lipjan, Coin ATM Radar lists a machine that the operator does not confirm.

The nearest confirmed ATM is CoinPrime’s on Adem Jashari street in Gjilan, which buys and sells BTC, ETH and LTC. For Gjilan and the Dheu i Bardhë border, read crypto in Gjilan.

Vushtrri: nothing verified, Mitrovica is the fallback

Vushtrri has 61,528 residents, more than Lipjan or Kamenicë, but we found no verified crypto office or ATM there. The nearest option is the exCoins office on Shemsi Ahmeti street in south Mitrovica, open Monday to Saturday, 09:00–17:00.

No operator confirms a crypto ATM in Mitrovica either (Coin ATM Radar lists one), so for a reliable machine you need Pristina. One rule applies nationwide but is felt most in the north: since 1 February 2024 the euro is the only currency accepted for cash payments in Kosovo. The south–north picture is on our Mitrovica page.

Suharekë: nothing confirmed, but Prizren’s ATM is on your road

Suharekë (Theranda), with 45,749 residents, has no crypto point confirmed by any operator. A social-media page under the generic name “Crypto Exchange” lists Suharekë among its locations, but it is not on the CBK list and we could not verify it.

The good news: exCoins’ HIB Petrol 2 ATM in Prizren stands on Ukë Bytyqi street, on the Prizren–Suharekë road, so it is on your side of town. According to exCoins it also buys crypto back. Prizren has two offices as well, one of them CoinPrime’s. Everything is on our Prizren page.

When your phone beats the drive

If you live in Vushtrri or Suharekë, or your local office is closed whenever you are free, buying online is often the most practical route. On a large platform you pay by card or bank transfer and the coins arrive in your account without leaving home. Trading fees run around 0.25%, a fraction of the 4.8% reported for exCoins ATMs.

A hand holding a phone showing a Bitcoin payment next to a card reader
From Vushtrri or Suharekë, buying on your phone usually costs less than the trip to an ATM.

Two things to know. First, Kosovo-issued cards count as non-EU cards, so card fees can reach several percent; a bank transfer is cheaper, although it travels by and takes one to three business days. Second, decide where your coins will live. For larger sums, a personal wallet whose is written on paper is safer than leaving everything on an exchange. Our step-by-step buying guide covers the rest.
