A site for reading, not for collecting data

CryptoKosovo has no accounts, sets no cookies and runs no ad trackers. The only third parties that see your visit are the public price APIs, and only when you use a calculator.

This page explains what data moves when you visit CryptoKosovo, who can see it and why. It’s short, because the site collects very little.

No accounts, no cookies

CryptoKosovo is a static website: every page is built in advance and served to you exactly as it is to everyone else. There’s no sign-up, no login, no comments and no forms. We don’t set any and we don’t run analytics or advertising tools that follow you from page to page. Fonts and images are served from our own server, not from outside services.

Like any website, this one is delivered by a server, and the hosting provider may keep standard of each request. We don’t use those logs to identify you.

Calculators and price APIs

The calculators, such as the Bitcoin ATM fee calculator, the cash-out comparison and the Bitcoin-to-euro converter, need a live market rate. Our server doesn’t fetch it: your browser requests it directly from CoinGecko’s public (api.coingecko.com) and, if that fails, from Binance’s (api.binance.com). To speed this up, each page opens an early connection to api.coingecko.com as it loads.

The request contains only the list of coins and the currency “EUR”. Even so, like any server, CoinGecko and Binance can see your and browser type. What they do with that is governed by their own privacy policies, not ours. If you’d rather not contact them, skip the calculators or block those two domains in your browser; the written guides work fine without them.

The rate is kept in your browser’s for about 90 seconds, so it isn’t requested again on every page you open. Only the rates and a timestamp are stored, nothing about you, and it all disappears when you close the tab. How the rate source is chosen is explained in our methodology.

We link often to official sources, such as the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo and the Tax Administration of Kosovo, to operators’ websites and to the platforms compared in our reviews. These links open in a new tab and carry a attribute. Once you leave CryptoKosovo, the privacy policy of the site you land on applies, including the buttons that take you to open an account on a platform. We pass no information about you to those sites.

Emails you send us

When you write to contact@cryptokosovo.com, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to tell us. We use it only to reply and to check and correct our pages. We don’t sell it, we don’t hand it over for marketing, and we won’t add you to a mailing list, because we don’t have one. Please don’t send sensitive details such as card numbers, ID scans or a seed phrase; there’s more on that on the contact page.

Your rights

In Kosovo, personal data is protected by the Law on Personal Data Protection, and the supervisory authority is the Information and Privacy Agency (AIP, from its Albanian name). Under that law you can ask what data we hold about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted. In practice, the only personal data we might have is the emails you sent us yourself. Write to contact@cryptokosovo.com and we’ll delete them. If you think we haven’t handled your data properly, you have the right to complain to the AIP.
