Exchange reviews written from Kosovo, for Kosovo
Ten online platforms and two walk-in operators, checked against the conditions that actually apply to you: a Kosovo-issued card, SWIFT instead of SEPA, a Kosovo ID and licences you can verify yourself.
Ten exchanges checked for Kosovo residents
For each platform we read the restricted-countries list, the fee page and the licence register. The order is editorial and unscored: it reflects how clearly Kosovo is supported, which euro routes work from a Kosovo bank, and what those routes cost on a non-EU card. The full criteria are in our review methodology.

Most exchange reviews online are written for readers in Germany, the UK or the US. They talk about free SEPA transfers, EU cards and European licences that often don’t apply to someone in Pristina, Prizren or Gjilan. Here, everything is seen from Kosovo.

How we review exchanges
We start with the simplest question: will the platform take you? We read the official restricted-countries list and any help article that names Kosovo. A platform that lists Kosovo by name among supported countries counts for more than one that merely leaves it off its ban list. When an official page won’t load, as happened with Bybit, we say so.
Next, how euros get in. Cards from Kosovo banks are treated as non-EU cards, so we publish the fee for those, not the one advertised in Germany. We check whether the platform accepts EUR deposits and whether its market has payment methods that work here, such as Paysera. For trading fees we use the base tier, because that is where you are, not the institutional tier.
Finally, licences. “Regulated” is not enough: we want the entity name, the regulator and the registration number, such as FCA FRN 1007192 for CEX.IO Markets UK Ltd. We also flag when a licence won’t cover you, because Kosovo is outside the European Economic Area. Every review carries a source list and a check date. We don’t give scores, because a single number can’t tell you whether a platform is cheap by card or by SWIFT.
The full reviews
Five online platforms and two walk-in operators have a full review, with fees, licences, how to deposit from Kosovo and concrete pros and cons:
- CEX.IO: Names Kosovo explicitly; 0.49–4.99% card fee, EUR SWIFT deposits, an Albanian-language site, FinCEN and FCA registrations.
- Binance: “Available” for Kosovo; 0.10% spot, EUR P2P at +0.4–1.2% over market, but no Kosovo banks in the ads.
- Bybit: Kosovo-issued cards pay 3.70%; the Bybit EU MiCA licence covers the EEA, not Kosovo.
- OKX: 1.99% EUR card fee; P2P with Revolut, Paysera and N26; MiCA via Malta.
- Kraken: The broadest regulation (MiCA, FCA, FinCEN), but card purchases around 3.75% + €0.25.
- exCoins: 13 offices and 5 ATMs across Kosovo; 2% converter commission; not on the CBK licence list.
- CoinPrime: The only CBK-licensed crypto operator; ID every time, cash capped at €1,000 per 24 hours.
The other platforms in the list, Bitget, KuCoin, Crypto.com, Gate and MEXC, don’t ban Kosovo, but each has gaps we note in the table: Bitget doesn’t name Kosovo in its EUR P2P country list, and Crypto.com’s Onchain wallet is restricted in Kosovo. If you are just starting out, read how to buy Bitcoin in Kosovo step by step first.
Walk-in operators: exCoins and CoinPrime
Not everyone wants an online account. For buying with euro cash, Kosovo has two networks of offices and ATMs, and the main difference between them is a licence from the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo (CBK).
CoinPrime
Licensed by the CBK (July 2026)
5 offices and 3 ATMs in Pristina, Ferizaj, Gjilan, Prizren and Fushë Kosovë, headquartered in Ferizaj. ID is required even under €1,000; cash is capped at €1,000 per 24 hours, and above that only bank transfer at 1% commission. ATM and office fees are not published.
exCoins
Not on the CBK list (15.10.2026)
13 offices from Pristina to Gjakova and 5 ATMs, four of them at HIB Petrol stations. The website converter shows a 2% commission; Coin ATM Radar lists the ATMs at roughly 4.8% to buy and 5.2% to sell. You can sell crypto for cash at the offices and at some of the ATMs.
Every office address and opening time is listed in crypto exchange offices in Kosovo.
Platforms that don’t work, or aren’t confirmed
Some names that come up constantly in videos and ads won’t serve you as a Kosovo resident:
Revolut has a twist: Kosovo residents can’t open an account, but relatives in Germany can use it to send money to Kosovo. World Bank data put the Germany-to-Kosovo cost via Revolut at 0.30%, the lowest in the corridor. We compare that with crypto in sending money to Kosovo. Paysera Kosova, meanwhile, has held a CBK e-money licence since 29 June 2020, but offers payments only, not crypto.
Frequently asked questions
Which crypto exchanges work in Kosovo?
Of the ten platforms we checked on 20 October 2026, none listed Kosovo as a banned country: CEX.IO, Binance, Bybit, OKX, Kraken, Bitget, KuCoin, Crypto.com, Gate and MEXC. Bybit’s official restrictions page was unreachable. Revolut does not open accounts for Kosovo residents.
Why don’t you give scores or stars?
Because a single score hides what matters: a platform can be cheap by SWIFT and expensive by card, or licensed in the EU but not for Kosovo. Instead we publish the facts we checked. Our criteria are set out in how we review.
How do you rank the platforms?
The order is editorial and has no numeric scores: we look at Kosovo availability, euro funding options, costs for non-EU cards and licences we can verify. The criteria are in our methodology, and every fact links to a source at the bottom of the review.
Is any online exchange licensed by the Central Bank of Kosovo?
No. The CBK’s list of 15 October 2026 names one crypto operator, CoinPrime SH.P.K. in Ferizaj, which works through offices and ATMs. Global platforms hold licences elsewhere. More in is crypto legal in Kosovo.
Which exchange is cheapest with a Kosovo card?
Per the official pages we checked, OKX publishes 1.99% for EUR card payments, while CEX.IO quotes a 0.49–4.99% range plus a service charge. Bybit charges non-EU cards 3.70%. The full comparison is in buying crypto with a card.
