Pristina is the easiest place in Kosovo to buy crypto face to face. The city has three ATMs and three offices, both operators are present, and two of the machines stand on the same street, Rruga B. Not every point does everything, though: some will not buy back USDT, one asks for ID on every amount, and the offices are shut on Sundays.
Three ATMs and three offices inside the city
The list below comes straight from the operators’ own websites and was checked on 20 October 2026. A green tag marks the operator on the licence list of the CBK (Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo); an amber tag means the operator was not on the list of 15 October 2026, not that the point is closed.

CBK licenceThe two exCoins ATMs are General Bytes machines that sell BTC, ETH, LTC and USDT, and buy back only BTC and LTC. Coin ATM Radar’s listing for Maxi 24 puts the at about 4.8% when you buy and 5.2% when you sell, plus a fixed fee. The HIB Petrol Kalabri machine is handy if you arrive by coach: the bus station is close by, and the fuel station stays open through the night.
The exCoins offices in Ulpianë (Zija Shemsiu 25) and Tophanë (Vushtria street) handle more coins, including XRP and TRX, and will also buy USDT from you. The converter on the exCoins website shows a 2% commission, roughly half of what the ATM costs. Our take on both operators, with concrete strengths and limits, is in the exCoins review and the CoinPrime review; the national machine list is on Bitcoin ATMs in Kosovo.
Rruga B: two operators about 200 metres apart
Rruga B is the only street in Kosovo where both operators have machines almost side by side. According to Coin ATM Radar, the exCoins ATM at Maxi 24 and the CoinPrime ATM, installed in March 2026, are about 0.2 km apart. CoinPrime also runs its office at the same address, open Monday to Saturday, 10:00–18:00.
That makes a direct comparison easy. At exCoins, small amounts need no paperwork: up to €500 without verification and €500–1,000 with a phone number, per Coin ATM Radar. At CoinPrime, licensed by the CBK since July 2026, applies every time, even below €1,000. CoinPrime caps cash at €1,000 per 24 hours across all its ATMs and offices combined, and pays out sales at the machine through an . It does not publish its ATM or office fees; bank-transfer sales carry a 1% commission.
Which point for which job
Rather than heading to the nearest point, pick the one that fits the task. The table covers the situations readers ask us about most.
| Situation | Where to go | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Late at night or on Sunday | Maxi 24, HIB Petrol Kalabri or CoinPrime on Rruga B | ATMs run 24/7; offices are closed |
| Small buy, no account | exCoins ATMs | Up to €500 without verification (Coin ATM Radar) |
| Cheapest way with cash | exCoins Ulpianë or Tophanë | 2% per the website converter vs ≈4.8% at the ATM |
| Selling USDT for euros | exCoins offices | No ATM in Pristina buys USDT |
| Selling more than €1,000 | CoinPrime by bank transfer (1%) or a platform plus your bank | CBK rules ban cash payouts above €1,000 |
| After 18:00 at an office | exCoins Tophanë | The only office open until 19:30 |
For larger sales, Pristina has one practical advantage: all ten licensed banks in Kosovo have their head offices here, so account issues can be sorted in town. Watch the withdrawal limits, though. ProCredit’s August 2026 price list, for example, allows up to €2,000 a day by debit card at its own cash machines and €500 at other banks’ machines. If the money comes from an international exchange, it arrives by and your bank may charge an incoming fee. The details are in our guide to buying crypto by bank transfer in Kosovo.
Why Kosovo’s crypto market lives in Pristina
With 227,466 residents in the 2024 census, Pristina is Kosovo’s largest municipality, but population is only part of the story. The city is home to the CBK, which licenses crypto operators, and to the head offices of all ten commercial banks. The community gathers here too. BlockTalk Prishtina on 10–11 May 2025 drew more than 2,000 attendees, according to Telegrafi; a Binance meetup around June 2025 drew more than 700, according to Binance’s X account; and the Balkans Blockchain Summit took place at KlanArena on 23–24 May 2026.
The regulator uses the capital as its stage as well. On 3–4 June 2026, the CBK hosted a regional conference on crypto-assets and digital money in Pristina, attended by the IMF’s Tobias Adrian. For buyers, that means rule changes tend to be felt here first, as with the July 2026 inspections, when the market inspectorate and the tax administration closed six businesses and fined six more on the first day.
From the Pejton ATM to the first licence
Pristina is where crypto first became visible in Kosovo. This short timeline shows how the market moved from experiment to regulation.
- Kosovo’s first Bitcoin ATM opens near Qyteza Pejton. CoinDesk reported that it sparked a warning from the central bank. Today no active operator lists it.
- Law No. 08/L-295 on Crypto-Assets is published in the Official Gazette.
- BlockTalk Prishtina draws more than 2,000 attendees.
- The CBK regulation on crypto exchange operators comes into force.
- CoinPrime installs its Rruga B ATM, per Coin ATM Radar.
- Balkans Blockchain Summit at KlanArena.
- CoinPrime, which also has an office on Rruga B, becomes the first crypto operator licensed by the CBK.

Two scams that hit the capital
On 22 August 2024, Bota Sot reported that a Pristina resident had lost €50,000 in a crypto “investment” that turned out to be fraud. In May 2025, police uncovered an illegal call centre in Pristina that sold fake crypto investments to victims; three people were arrested. Both cases follow the same script: someone contacts you, promises a safe return and pushes you to send money to a platform they control.
Neither case involved the ATMs or offices listed above. The real risk in the city is not the physical points but the phone calls and social-media groups. Warning signs and where to report them are in our guide to crypto scams in Kosovo.
Fushë Kosovë, Podujevë and the road to Merdare
If you live on the outskirts, you do not need to drive into the centre. Fushë Kosovë has two offices, exCoins on Hysen Xhakolli street and CoinPrime on Nënë Tereza street; Lipjan and Podujevë each have an exCoins office. None of these towns has an ATM, so at night you will need to come into Pristina. Addresses and hours are on our page about crypto in Kosovo’s smaller towns.
The nearest border crossing from Pristina is Merdare into Serbia, via Podujevë. There is no useful alternative close by on the other side: ECD only has points in Belgrade and Novi Sad and requires a verified account. To the south, the Bitomat machine in Skopje is about 90 km away through Hani i Elezit, but with the Rruga B machines and the two in Ferizaj, the trip rarely makes sense. If you are coming from the north, see also crypto in Mitrovica.
